Throughout this writing I will be focusing my efforts on the topic of prayer, putting
emphasis on teaching "How to pray effectively" I will be making several references to
the Daily Maintenance Prayer (which is in the Prayer section of this site) throughout
this writing so as to help explain this prayer, to help explain overall prayer techniques,
and to help explain why a Christian needs to pray effectively
Intimate prayer for the most part is spending "quiet time" with the Lord, for intimate
prayer is a time of communicating with God, a time of listening to God, it is meditating on
where you are in your walk with the Lord, and seeking God for His direction, etc. It is
through "intimate prayer" that a Christian develops a personal relationship with the Lord,
"spirit to Spirit." That being the case we do not need to be vocally speaking when spending
time with our Father Jehovah for intimate prayer is a form of "spiritual" communication.
Note: If a Christian prefers to verbally speak out when seeking God for answers, etc that is
fine also.

Effective prayer is much different than intimate prayer though for you are not looking to
spiritually communicate with God for the purpose of attaining personal direction for your
life, or furthering your relationship with the Lord, but what you are doing is seeking to
achieve a specific goal through the authority which you have in Christ, or attempting to
rectify a situation which needs to be rectified through that same authority.

Note: Intercessory prayer is also another form of "effective prayer" for you are praying
to achieve a goal, but you are not taking authority over demonic spirits, principalities and
powers, strongholds etc, in the same way as talked about above. That being the case you
don't need to vocally speak out what you are interceding for unless you strongly feel that
you should and or the Lord prompts you to. Intercessory prayer is spiritually yoking
yourself in agreement with another person and adding your anointed focus to another
persons prayers to help move them through a spiritual struggle, or whatever it is that they
may be going through. You are praying for God's will to be done in a situation and to help
another person to break through any barriers which may be holding them back from
achieving God's will in their life. Intercessory prayer is spiritually petitioning God's Spirit to
come into a situation more intensely to break past the darkness which you may have
discerned is on a person (or the confusion, fear, falseness, denial, rebelliousness etc you
have discerned is on a person), in that this person will begin to see more clearly what
God's will is for their life etc.

Intercessory prayer is vast, sometimes you are praying in agreement with another person
for a goal to be accomplished, and sometimes you are praying for another persons needs
without them even being aware that you are. I will be touching on "intimate prayer"and
"intercessory prayer" throughout this writing "but" the main focus of this writing is in the
area of what I am calling "effective prayer." (Warfaring, speaking forth deliverance,
healing, pulling down of strongholds, closing doors to satan, petitioning the Holy Spirit to
help you, teach you etc.)

This prayer should be read out loud, (not loudly, but spoken out) for you are exercising
your God given authority to address with the Blood of Jesus Christ every situation in your
life that needs the attention of the Holy Spirit, and when one is administering authority,
one needs to vocalize what they are addressing with that authority.

When we as a Christian are praying "effectively" (such as when warfaring and taking
authority over works of darkness) we need to "speak out" to those demonic influences,
principalities and powers, strongholds etc, which are at work in a situation and which we are
addressing, so that there will be no misunderstanding on their part as to what we are
directing those works of darkness to do. When Jesus Christ took authority over and
demons to give up and relinquish the strongholds which they had over a person, He spoke
out what He wanted them to do. Satan must bow down when Christ's authority is being
administered against him in a effective and appropriate manner. There is great power in the
Blood of Jesus Christ but that power needs to be "directed" against the works of darkness
in the appropriate manner before satan is going to relinquish anything which he has illegally
acquired, and now claims to be his.

Among other things, we need to realize that satan is also a "legalist." Satan knows how he
can gain the right to impose himself into a person's life, and satan knows he can remain in a
situation until he is commanded by the proper authority to relinquish his hold on that situation.
But satan knows that unless the Blood of Jesus Christ is applied against him in the proper
way that he does not have to budge. If there is any loophole by which satan will not have to
comply to any authority, you can rest assured that satan will use it.

For example, Jesus Christ had said "If you ask anything in my name I shall do it" Jesus
Christ broke it down for us. He told us that we were empowered as a Christian under His
mantle of Power and that we had authority under the cloak of His Authority to do even
the things which He had been doing, but that we needed to ask everything in His name to
have access to that "power and authority."

John 14:13-14 NIV 3 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may
bring glory to the Father. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

John 20:31 NIV 31 But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the
Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

Satan will diligently watch everything you say and everything you do when you are
speaking against him, for he is measuring you up and looking for his loopholes. By the
example I gave, if you are petitioning the Blood of Jesus Christ to achieve something for you,
but you didn't speak your petition in Jesus Christ's name, then satan will plead a case against
you to hold up what you had asked for. Also if you are petitioning the Blood of Jesus Christ
to come against the works of darkness and you did not speak against it in the name of Jesus
Christ, satan has found another loophole to stay in that situation.

I will give another example based on Matthew 17:14-20 NIV 14 When they came to the
crowd, a man approached Jesus and knelt before him. 15 "Lord, have mercy on my son," he
said. "He has seizures and is suffering greatly. He often falls into the fire or into the water. 16
I brought him to your disciples, but they could not heal him." 17 "O unbelieving and
perverse generation," Jesus replied, "how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up
with you? Bring the boy here to me." 18 Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy,
and he was healed from that moment. 19 Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and
asked, "Why couldn't we drive it out?" 20 He replied, "Because you have so little faith.
I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain,
'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

When we represent the authority of Christ, our faith is measured. Greater faith does greater
things, little faith does little. That being the case satan knows what measure of faith is being
spoken to him, and if our faith is lacking satan will not budge. This is one thing that God works
on in us when we first come to the Lord and become a Christian, God will find ways in which
to build us up in our faith so that we will have greater faith to speak with greater authority.

Does satan use the Word of God against us? Amen he does, so speak out clearly what it is
that you are commanding him and his demonic to do so that he can't say "I never heard any
one speaking Christ's authority against me." Even if you are alone in your room when taking
authority over a spiritual stronghold, demonic spirit etc, you will have many witnesses in the
spiritual realm which will have heard your authority in Christ being spoken and who will
validate your requests. (God's Holy Spirit, Warring Angels, Ministering Angels, etc)

Because satan uses the Word of God against us we need to make sure that we ourselves are
complying to God's word. We need to pay close attention to the word of God and adhere our
selves to it's instruction and we especially need to pay close attention to Jesus Christ's example,
His teachings, and make every attempt to adapt ourselves to them. If Jesus Christ said it then
we best do it because satan knows what is written in the Bible and he knows what we as
Christians are to comply ourselves to.

In the same manner when you are petitioning God's Holy Spirit to move on your behalf, or
you are summoning Warrior and Ministering Angels into a situation etc, "speak out" what you
are asking them to do for again you are not praying "intimately," for direction but "effectively"
to achieve. Another reason for speaking out when directing God's Angels, or God's Holy Spirit
to a task is so that the devil himself is aware that you are not trying to warfare against him in
your own power, without the help of God. He will know this first hand for he will "hear your
words"and especially the part where you say "In the name of Jesus Christ I ask, or I
command."
